Arthroscopy..

Arthroscopy is the cheem name for scope op.. Anyway, got my ankle done already and it's now heavily bandaged, like a big hammer. Haha. I'm not kidding. It feels fine. I just tried to walk, before that, I was hopping around the house, and basically I can walk. But now, for the first time since the op, I can feel niggling pain at the supposed wound. Not sure if it's just nice the Anaesthesia totally wore off or it's cos of the walking.. Hmm... Heavy bandage to be taken off on Thurs, that's when I'll get to see the 2 tiny holes stitched up.

The op went well, I guess. Reported at the Day Surgery Centre at 1pm, then registered, got changed to sterilised clothings, got blood pressure etc checked and waited till it was time. Once I was wheeled to the Operating Theatre, everything was on Fast Forward. Anasthaesist came to see me, injected the big ass needle into my vain and gave me glucose through it. Not pain, she is damn good. Then saw my specialist, Dr Ooi, and he talked to me a bit basically to refresh his memory on my injury. Then he went to brief his team of 2 other Doctors, don't know who they are, they never intro. Haha. I didn't stay long enough to see my doctors again.. I got wheeled in, transferred myself onto the Opeating bed, given an injection and some pungent "oxygen" (which is really the anasthaesia, but they say oxygen) After inhaling 3 times....... The next thing I know, I woke up in a whirl.. Took a minute, realised it was all done. But was too seh to do anything much, drifting in and out of consciousness, or sleep.. Talked to the nurse a bit, actually quite a lot.. About what, I'm not too sure, but I remember she's a Chinese national. Lol.. Thereafter I was transferred to the Day Surgery Ward, where I was joined by my dad.

Slowly regain my energy and then came the Milo and a pack of soda biscuits. Haven't eaten in a day sia.. I had to pee before I could be discharged. Cos, inability to pee is one of the side effects, and you should know the consequences of not peeing for too long... Well, really had some difficulty trying to pee, even though it was high tide already.. Stood there for like 5-10 mins and not a drop came out. When I gave up and sat on the wheelchair, that was when I suddenly broke out in cold sweat and felt nausea. "Merlion-ed" the biscuits and Milo out. Felt alot better after that though.. Managed to pee after half an hour, when my dad suggested I should sit.. Heh.. The pee reeked of the anasthesia.. I swear I remember the smell. But at least I know my body is working well. hehe..

Was promptly discahrged once the peeing was done. Changed into my own clothes, my dad signed some documents, briefed on my medicine and I was wheeled to the carpark by a nurse while my dad drove the car. Back at home at about 9pm.. MC of 31 days.. Haha...
