The Longest Day..
Well, pretty much experienced The Longest Day in my entire life..
Yesterday was my batallion's company live firing day.. An eye opener in the sense, managed to see how all the support arms, heavy weapon were used to support an attack, other than the normal infantry troopers using rifles..
I was there as a safety specialist for demolition.. Nothing much to do on paper, but the sad thing is, there was no rotation for us. The other safety officers or rather, every other single person there had times when they are not in action. But not for me and my 2 other friends. It was super duper shag.
Probably can't say too much details, but I left camp at 6.30 am on Sunday morning, and reached back to camp only at 4+ am today. And finally went to bed at 5 am.. Can somebody please tell me that this is the last time there's a live firing or whatever shit that needs demolition specialist?! :( It's really not fun.. Getting bitten by mosquitoes, skipping lunch, the loud rifle bangs that threatened my ears, the camou cream, the ineffective insect repellant etc etc.. Thank goodness, I do not need to clean rifle... =p
