A bully scene..

This thing has somewhat disturbed me for the day.. Was out with NCC buddies at City Hall area when we witnessed a bully scene. Right outside Raffles City..

A group of youngsters surrounded a guy who seems to be in his late 20s or early 30s and hurled abuse at him.. All the hokkien profanities came out and it was really just hokkien profanities.. I seriously don't know what triggered that. But that man was super helpless and was almost ducking.. Turning his head away, leaning against the wall and hung his head low to keep away from the verbal assualt. He really looked helpless, weak and I really don't know why the man couldn't defend himself from the group of youngsters.. Maybe he did something wrong? I don't know...

What disturbs me is whether I could have helped that man. There was an urge among the 3 of us to go and interfere. But being the typical Singaporeans that we are, we just looked as we walk further away from them.. Could we have help? Was it a case of plain bullying? It's in times like that I wished I have been enlisted as a police for my NS.. I would definitely have intervened if I was a police..

Now, the question to myself is, will I be daring enough to intervene if such incidents occur again right in front of me?
