Kallang Roar!!!
Roar is the word. Kallang shook last night not cos of S.H.E's concert at the indoor stadium, but by their neighbours in the stadium. I wonder if SHE could hear our voices across the road. 55,000 people joined their voices to cheer Singapore on. I was one of them! It's really a wonderful night of great atmosphere as we cheered, jeered and scolded vulgarities together. The Kallang Wave was seen at its fullest strength too. It was just so wonderful, reliving memories of 2 yrs ago during the Tiger Cup final and of course, the M-cup heydays. All this, and throw in the factor that our opponents was none other than - Malaysia.. Imagine the jest each of us had in us. I think the reports of the supporters being the 12th man was not an exaggeration, we really cheered our hearts out. To be at the stadium, it was more of enjoying the atmosphere, rather than the match that mattered. Of course, Singapore produced a above average performance to keep us cheering. And to chase back the game after going down to a sucker of a goal made the team, and the supporters even more fiery. It was funny to see the Malaysians dumbfounded. They've been making loads of noise after they took the lead while Singaporeans watched on in silence, unable to digest that our best player in Lionel Lewis let in such a soft goal. And seriously words aren't enough to describe, you should feel it by being there and you'd know what I mean. So take my seat on Wednesday, I can't be there, but you can.Fuck, I'll be stuck in the middle of an exercise on Wednesday, somewhere in the wilderness of Singapore. Argh... I've seen my last football match in Kallang. Pleh...
The Barber..
I wanna be a barber!!!!!!!*The rant above is not made out of a sudden aspiration or interest in the job, but for the sheer easiness of earning money. Let me explain why.Oh, I forgot to add, I want to be a Nee Soon Camp barber at the Engineer canteen. Why!?!?! Cos this bugger opens only 2 days a week. Mon and Wed I think. And it's SUPPOSED to be open only. Meaning, for the whole of December, it wasn't open! Best thing of all? We were made to pay $2 each as barber fee when our basic course started. There were 200-odd of us then, the barber made a cool $500 without even having to open his bloody shop!! That isn't the end. This week, we were made to pay another $2 to the barber again, for the January barber fee. What rubbish. Even more rubbish is that we have Armoured Engineer pple crossing over to Sg Gedong camp, who would definitely NOT have the chance to even shed, not cut, any of their body hair in the barber shop in Nee Soon, were also made to pay.. On THE DAY they leave Nee Soon!! WTF!! Now if this is not rubbish, I dunno what is.Even those staying back in Nee Soon don't really have the chance to go cut lor.. Training schedule is packed, the barber open at god-knows when hours. The only time I heard about the barber going to open was Wing SM 'offering' to ask the barber back on a Sunday to cut our hair. It's a fucked up suggestion. He obviously know nobody want to come back on a Sunday to cut hair, so he's doing it on purpose I guess, duty done, mission (of not needing to hunt down the vanishing barber) accomplished.. (Eh Staff, charge the barber with AWOL la, fuck.)
So, being a Nee Soon camp barber is such great luxury I should recommend my relative to apply being one. Earning a few hundred bucks per month, without having to move a finger or whatsoever is pure cool-ness.. Pure joy. I wanna build my camp barber empire.
Festive Spirit..
CNY mood is in the air and I can feel it. And it feels good! But I also wonder if I've time to immerse myself fully before the CNY do come around. Like going to Chinatown night market, doing some goodie shopping with my family. Oh man, it's my favourite time of the year, seriously. I'll just take whatever I can enjoy I guess. It feels good to be able to sit at home on a Sunday night blogging. Haha. Monday off, thanks to last Saturday burnt for live firing. Next Sunday guard duty. Bleh.. But it means I wun be on during CNY, haha.. So i just suck thumb do without complains. 5 more weeks of training to endure. Every week out field once. Sucks man.. And anyway, the life of a combat engineer - sian. We all agree it's not so much of the training that's so bothersome. It's the stores! We have endless stores to carry I tell you. Before exercises, you need more rest, but you'll be bogged down by loading stores to vehicles. After exercises, you are so dead tired that you might even want to sleep on the toilet bowl, but you have to unload and clean the stores first. SIAN... But life as an engineer is such. *shakes head*Now, I plan to wake up early tml and maybe go to the market or NTUC, enjoy a bit of a normal weekday life. Probably first time in half a years man. The problem is whether I'll be able to wake uP? Haha.. This weekend has been good. Pray for me that it doesn't rain on Tuesday and Wednesday this week please.. It sucks to have your boots full of water, INSIDE.. And the water can't flow out. It's disgusting, I tell you.. Your socks will stink like no tomorrow and your feet almost going to start rotting.. Bleah...
Happy 2007!
Ok, it's the new year, so wishing all my frens a Happy New Year and have a great year ahead!!Just came back from Fraser's Hill. Had a great time chilling down there, and actually went KL to shop for awhile. Should have stayed at the bungalow, on hindsight. The bungalow was just lovely. Awesome food cooked for us by the caretaker too. Had steamboat on the first night and western food last night. All very very nice meals.. Being able to travel sorta make me forget I'm still a NSF. Really.. I dunno why but it feels like I'm a student or what again. Probably this is why adults really go on vacation, getting away from work, relax.... Beautiful. Now, I wonder when will I have another chance like that? I hope June can be one good chance, the waterfall at Fraser's is quite nice to go actually, but it's usually cold during the December period so we gave it a miss. And the elders shouldn't set their sights on Genting.. It's so troublesome, really....Ok, back to New Year. I dun have much of resolution, yet. I hope to be able to figure out what I want to do after I ORD (though it's a year away).. And definitely hoping that 2007 will be a good year for all loved ones..
