Contradiction..
So the convicted murderer of China girl Huang Na has been hanged. Normally, you'll feel that justice has been done, that the convict deserves it.. But for me, not 100% so in this case. To clarify, I still stand by the judiciary system of ours that murder carries the death penalty..
However, this time round, I find that there should be some leeway in the appeals process, especially so as this case had one Judge of Appeal who decided that Took's murder charge should not stand. That seriously leaves a question mark in my head..
Maybe, it's the power of media.. We've read too much on the family of Took. Sympathy for them and much disgust at Huang Na's mom who took all of the $300k+ bereavement money back to China, going back on her words to donate part of it out.. It just might be the media..
Watching a documentary on Discovery Channel about a murder case in Alabama some 20 yrs ago where the murderer might be wrongly convicted and is still fighting the case, did not help matters.
So, maybe just ask yourself, do you feel like I do? Finding yourself sympathising a convicted murderer, even by a little bit? Why is this so? Give it a thought maybe..
