First duty..

One of a good reason not to sign-on.. You'll be liable for regimental duties, anytime of the year, regardless of whether it is a Public Holiday or your grandfather's birthday, you are liable..

And so, I got my first duty, sway sway on a off-in-lieu day.. (@@#)$(#@_#.. So burnt my whole day in camp, practically did nothing.. Answered about 5 calls the whole day, watched a lot of TV prog from Media Corp channels. But the fact that I still managed to read 100 page of Neil Humphrey's book shows 2 things : Mediacorp's prog sucks big time in the day. Neil's book is fantastic. I think I broke my own record of reading so much in a single day.. Applause please.. And so, I think MediaCorp is waiting for us (the mass commers) to make better progs for them. The whole freaking day time was filled with stupid Taiwanese drama serials that only prompted me to pick up Neil's book and indulge.. I was hoping they repeat some old SBC/TCS chinese serials but no, they didn't. Disappointment is an understatement. Disgusted more like it..

The day actually passed quite fast doing nothing. The COS was good, left me alone to do my stuffs while he watches his VCD.. Haha.. I was telling him I should've brought my Xbox here. Lol..

The 2 of us slp on the conference room table. This huge ass table was nice to sleep on, tons of space.. Haha, of course the negative side was that it's hard wood, but it was better than sleeping on a pathetic foam mattress i guess. Had a reasonably good night's rest and it was soon 5am.. Booked out at 8am, and now I'm counting down to booking in at 10pm later already. Sucks. Bleh..

Coming back to Neil Humphrey's book, I'm actually quite sad seeing him leave Sg.. At the same time, it's a shame on Singaporeans that an accidental tourist - turned "citizen" knows or have seen more places in Sg than most of us have and he actually sees things in very interesting ways. If I have the time, I'll quote some of his funny descriptions later..
