Sprained ankle?
So, is it really a sprained ankle? The sinseh said the ligament "opened". Which means what, a torn ligament ankle?!?! Oh myy.... Crap la... But for now, it's getting better by the day.. So we'll see how it goes.I'm really a bit down thinking of missing the 24 km route march. You can freaking miss any other route march. but missing the final, grand finale?! It's the symbol of you completing your BMT life, even if it's not a passing criteria. But the significance is so much more than passing your IPPT, your SOC and what nots. Fuck. How sway can I be.. Though I have to count myself lucky that I had already gotten the silver for IPPT, if not.. My record would be "attended BMT" rather than "completed BMT".. And throw me out of the equation for command school altogether. Then again, am I still in the running for command school? I dunno. If I'm not, then maybe it's destined I'm not to be one.. Then I'm gonna screw NS life already. I think I will.. We'll see how.. Right now, I'm still not feeling that down yet cos I'm not thinking about it alot.. Cos really dunno what will come of it. Ah, maybe time to play the new game I bought. =pBon Voyage, dear fren! See you 4 months later.
Sprained ankle..
Yeah, I'm blogging in the middle of the night on a Wednesday.. Means, I'm at home when I shouldn't be.. Sigh.. Got Att C. Sprained my bloody ankle while doing SOC yesterday evening.. Now the ankle is swollen like dunno wad..First sprain ever in my life.. Sian. My 24 km route march is up in the airs.. If there's a re-24km, it'll be more sian, cos I won't be walking with all my buddies.. Argh!!! How am I going to survive that?! Freak!! For now, I just hope it'll heal for POP next week...
Breathing Tekong air..
Have wanted to ramble about this for awhile now.. Well, the Tekong experience is coming to an end.. And I haven't told most people, if not all, that a part of me loves every second of Tekong life.. Let me put it straight, it's not the Army life, it's being able to be in Tekong basically. If you haven't already known, my paternal family grew up in Tekong.. So does it paint the picture of what I am going to say already? Yeah, basically I sometimes imagine how my dad and aunts ran riot on the grassland, forests.. How they sit under night skies gazing at the stars, that are still above us every night now, but are outshone by the city lights of ours.. Yeah, so sometimes I enjoy myself there by trying to relive how my elders lived their lives there..Anyway, it's one more week to POP.. Think I will miss my section mates. Great pals. If only it was for the whole NS, den I'm sure I'll serve the whole NS in joy. But, it's not the case, so I think I have to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best for whatever comes my way..
Tokyo Drift
Ok, so I caught a movie finally. Watched Tokyo Drift. Not too bad, got some plot, nice cars, pretty girls.. Heh.. The part I liked alot was how the Chinese guy didn't mind having his car wrecked by the male lead, just to find a trustworthy friend..Met up with a few 6A pple for lunch today at Vila'ge at Heeren.. Quite a bad turn up, 6 of us only. But had a good time catching up. Saw Winnie with her family there too. Haha, wad a coincidence. But I doubt she could recognise Vanessa and Tienfa and vice-versa. (we were all PYA mates).Tml's gonna be hell. IPPT diagnostic test in the morning followed by 16km route march. Can they use some brains? How are we supposed to have the legs to go 16km route march after 2.4km. Wa kao.. Anyway, the bright side is, we can bathe after the 16km. Unlike the last 2 route marches where we marched and camped outfield thereafter..I actually felt like going to bookstores now. Think somewhere in my brain fused. But ya, I actually feel like going to bookstores now.. Saw some interesting pictorials books on Singapore at Kino. May buy one, still considering.. And, I saw the freaking 3 kingdom Xbox game I want!! But it's $100 at Harvey Norman. So, I'll check out the Serangoon games store next week, where it'll be cheaper.. Hopefully he has stock.. *fingers crossed*
Sit test-ed...
So, the event of another week in BMT was the sit test. It was fun in a way, where we get to do some "real action". Planning and executing our plans to complete missions. But it gets boring after awhile with all the rope works and tying the same knots here and there. Sit test is also the place where you see pple wayang alot. And tell the natural leaders apart from leader wannabes, those uninterested to be one and those who want to be but can't lead..Going outfield again was abit of a downer, but at least it was for 2 nights only. It rained cats and dogs on the 2nd day. alot of pple were drenched through their socks. My detail was lucky cos we evacuated to the training shed early.. And with rain, brings in all kinds of insects when you sleep at night. Centipede attacked a number of pple, with one getting bitten on his balls. Ouch!!! Lucky, I din get any. My buddy and I couldn't be bothered when pple around our bashar were going crazy trying to hunt down centipedes, we were happily snoring away. haha..Sit test on the whole was alright. Some pple were irritating, they just have to have a say in every single freaking thing. And me? Just be myself, I talk whenever I feel it is necessary and when I do have a good point to put across.. Now I'm starting to wonder if I will miss OCS cos I talked too little? But, at least I know I din wayang my way thru.. Bleh..2 more weeks to POP.. Major events left are the 24km route march, IPPT and SOC.. Speaking of SOC, got 4 skin tears on my palms, from doing the monkey bar. Sian.. Nursing them, hope they dry up and heal faster. Booking in will mean pull-ups and worsening the injury if it doesn't heal. Sian.. Anyway, the "9 DIV Roar" is well, a bit stupid. But I can foresee a grand sight if everyone do it nicely. Shrug.. Just that we have to do it every single day before meal under the hot sun. Heatstroke, anyone? Cos I seriously felt 5 mins away from one yesterday. _l_I wanna watch a movie. Any movie will do...
GRENADEEE!!!
And yes, I'm back. Came out on a Friday, so OC's words are still believable to an extent. Haha..Anyway, had live grenade throw yesterday before booking out. How cool is that?! Grenade!!! Wohooo... Once in a lifetime thing, u won't get to throw another one again even when u are an officer or what.. And it's really the only time in BMT that you feel your life may be endangered, through your own hands. The freaking grenade has got 2,200 steel ball bearings packed in it. Imagine if you drop that little egg beside you, you have only less than 6 seconds to stun, get out of stunned mode, sling your rifle to the correct position, jump into the ditch, prone down with the rifle below you, get into the correct position (ie. hands behind neck, close your legs together - if you forget this last step, might as well stand up, really..) and lastly, pray...6 seconds to do all those? yeah, that's only what you have between life and death.. because the freaking grenade only take that long to explode. And mine, you know how does shockwave feel like?! It is an experience!! When you hide behind the concrete bay, you can feel the shockwave coming when your grenade explode.. "KA-BOOM!!" shiok la... And the best shockwave you get? When a C-4 is detonated.. You see, if screws up his throw and the grenade doesn't explode, the bomb squad has to use a C-4 to blow up the undetonated grenade - known as a "blind".2 instances of the power of C-4. Once was when I was still in a training shed about 200m away from the throwing range. Everyone tired cos we woke up at 4 plus am and it was already afternoon by then, so we all dozed off while waiting. Then suddenly came this ultra loud blast sound that was at least 3 to 4 times louder than the normal grenade explosion sound. C-4 it was, I couldn't get back to sleep after that. Imagine how loud it was. The second time was when I had done my throw, the detail that went after me got one guy throw blind. Haha.. So, i was in the range, this time less than 30m away from where the grenades are thrown, to feel the power of C-4. Wohoo... SHOCKWAVE.. You seriously feel your stomach moving slightly inside you.. The feeling is shiok. Haha...Anyway, my throw was alright, no cock up whatsoever.. Just threw the bloody thing out and quickly take cover, din want to get pulled down by my PC. Hehe.. So my movements all chop chop one.. Heh.. And you shout "GRENADEEE!!!" when you throw that thing outta your hand. It was fun.. Can I try again, Sir?! Hehe.
Screwed up..
And the first taste of how screwed up the Army can be came in the form of booking out. Boarded the fast craft only at 2115. Like wad the hell. This is a major holiday man!!! I'm pissed with the whole thing because, we had just gone for a field camp. Can't OC (who claims he has the power to give early book outs and all this crap) give us a day off? Hello, field camp come back we basically rotted in camp leh.. With so many soiled uniform to wash, it really didn't help that we only got less than 22 hours to be at home, and a good 2 hrs to be spend on laundry at least. Whether the uniform will dry in time depends on the weather in the next 19hrs. 1 hr for you to get to the freaking Pasir Ris..I'm disappointed cos that time in front of CO, OC said we'd book out the next day after field camp. LJ.. Did he just say that to make us or the CO happy? And we just happily sit there like idiots see all our commanders book in and out one by one after field camp while we are stuck in there with a few pitiful arrowed commanders..Well, OC said he's pushing for Friday book outs for this and next week. He said 70% chance for this weekend, and it's been more or less approved. We'll wait and see if I get to touch this keyboard on Friday, if not, I'm not gonna believe you again, Sir.4 more weeks to POP!
