Song Addict..

Been listening alot to songs these days.. Music is an essential at workplace. And of cos, my Walkman plays an important part in keeping me music-fied all day. Haha.. Listening to Coldplay's song lately, thanks to Daryl. And I can understand why he's so mesmerised by them.. Cos their songs are really nice.. Songs like "Yellow" and "The Scientist" really help to relax my mood at work.. "Fix You" has got really nice lyrics.. I might have considered going for Coldplay concert if not for NS.. Ah well..

Cable tv is in.. My house got a major TV addict-aka-dad, even more addict now.. The cable was installed on Sat noon. And from then on, it was non-stop SCV-ing on dad's part. I was working on the weekend, dad apparently sat in front of the tv the whole Sunday, cos it rained and they can't go out. -.-" Wa lao, so much for fearing I'll be addicted to SCV and not study. -.-"

Anyway, it's really great to have SCV. Haha.. The Taiwan channels are da bomb la. Some more now got the Presidential scandal, every night just whack the President openly. Lmao.. But too bad. The timing clashes with Dad's Da Chang Jin, can only watch bit-part. Damn... Da Chang Jin is nice in a way, but damn damn nyeh.. Which is really bleagh in that sense..

I'm catching "Little Bride" or Xin1 Niang2 Shi2 Ba1 Sui4 on VCD with Sis now. Burn the midnight oil to watch man!! Haha.. I wonder when I should quit the tuition centre job. I feel like taking more photos before I enlist and yes, find the time to go work out, if not sure die and kenna loads of RT in Tekong. =( But pay is good leh. Darn it..

Zonked Out..

Wa lao.. Totally zonked out last night.. Slept at like 10.30pm and woke up at 8.45am today.. Knew I needed the sleep, some more this weekend working at events also, cannot slack. Heh.. Looking forward to it. =)

Don't know why so tired lately leh. Haha.. Scared it's tetanus. *choy*.. Don't know what the symptoms are also.. Oh well, feeling much more refreshed now... Didn't help that I was woken up by the distress calls from Sis yesterday morning to send her to school cos she was late already.. (she was still home at 7.10am) -.-"

Little Rascals..

This took place while I was at work. The lady boss brought her two kids to office.. The younger one is quite an active one. The older one is fat, but much more quieter. And I guess he's into TV and games, judging by the number of times his mom has to scold him everytime he comes. Haha.. Ok, the main story for today...

When I heard it, I nearly burst out laughing. Damn funny la.. Haha.. The way he said it, and the whole situation of it.. If you think about it, tuition centre, the boss is a tutor, supposedly teach pple things, the son pick up the word at such a tender age of no more than 12. Haha... I really take my hats off. What makes me want to laugh more is the fact that lady boss appears to be those damn strict kind. So I wonder how the kids would even pick it up.. Or use it in front of family members..

Well, the L Rascal lodged an unsuccessful complaint against his older bro, presumably cos lady boss was busy.. So half an hour later, when they were going off, L. Rascal lodged the same report again.

New Date..

Ok, it's set.. My new enlistment date is 6 July 2006. BMTC school 2. Time, dunno yet.. Cos I checked online, never write time. So waiting for the letter, which I guess should arrive within these 2 days.

Pity, I won't be able to attend GF's 21st bday party. Sorry bro. See you on probably 2 weeks after 6 July. Think might have long weekend! wohoo! Haha.. Hope I dun miss WC semis...

East Coast!

Wohoo.. It's been a long long time since I went to East Coast Park.. To cycle! Haha.. For that matter, had I ever gone there to cycle before?? *shrug* Never mind. It was FUN! Long time never cycle also. Think the last time was at Ubin about 2 yrs back or sth.. Was abit afraid I'd forget how to cycle, but luckily I didn't. heh.. But still not good at it. Basically cannot do like ride with one hand kind of thing. So nvm, glad to stick to basics.. Heh..

Cycled from one end of East Coast park to the other end.. Yeah.. So all in all, did 2 trips, about 10 km. Cos from the bike shop, which was near Macs, cycled towards the West, and ended at Fort Road, very near to Marina side already.. And then cycle all the way back to where NSRCC is.. Heh.. Very shiok.. Took loads of photos with my SLR along the way. First time having human subjects for my shots also. heh... Can't wait to see how it'll turn out. (though the roll haven't finish.. -.-") Took one pic where me, Veron and GF climbed up a tree. heh.. Asked a passer-by to take for us. There was this girl wearing Rafflesian PE t-shirt with him.. As we were ready to take the pic, the girl just said "So cute..." -.-" Very sweat. Like wth. Compliments accepted. Haha..

Basically just had fun today la.. Yeah, been a long time... Though only 3 of us.. Next month shall have more pple! Like Ky, Jo!!! and maybe Gab or ZL.. Dunno, see who on to go. I know Jo will on one right. haha.. Off to Ubin next week. hope it materialises. =) Den more photos!! Muahaha..

Watched "Over the Hedge" at night with added company of KL, Marianne and her sis.. Great entertainment, the show. But Ice Age 2 was much nicer.. =)

Oprah Winfrey..

Watched the Oprah Winfrey talkshow this morning on Ch 5.. Watched when the show has already started and was wondering if that woman I see on screen was Oprah Winfrey. Was quite certain it was her, but was wondering wtf is she doing in the set of Desperate Housewives?! Haha.. Watched the whole programme and realised she was doing one episode as a special guest for the series. Quite funny. She was all excited to move into the suburbs, away from the hussle and buzzle of the Chicago town. But soon realised it was a wrong wrong move and packed up and left by the end of the day! Haha...

It's quite funny. Catch it if you can! =)

Hooked..

Just came back from fishing trip with dad and his frens.. Been about 2 yrs since I went on this particular trip that takes us out to the open waters to fish, near Horsburg lighthouse, aka Pedra Branca.. (u know the land of dispute between us and our frenly neighbour) Yeah..

Hmm, so off we went. The thing I like about fishing trips is not so much about the fishing itself, though it is enjoyable, but more of being in the nature. Unfamiliar territory.. Seeing big sea liner cruise by at break-neck speed (in nautical terms).. Thinking how the sea and ocean "works" etc etc. It's a beautiful world. Or should I start singing "what a wonderful world". Lol..

Anyway, highlight of the trip.. Involves me in agony.. Yeah, here goes.. I had just caught a small fish and was unhooking it to put it in the ice box.. Was gonna catch another live bait to hook up and continue fishing when the highlight came.. I had just unhooked the fish, the hook was on the floor. I was wary of the danger so I kept a look out as I was catching the bait.. Den one of the uncles came by, I still took notice. But he had stepped over my fishing line, so I thought all was fine and let down my guard. Next moment (all in one second), he tripped on the rod, the rod followed his leg, I felt a sensation in my right foot, he managed to maintain his balance, I went "ARGHHH!!!"... The sequence of events in that one second....

I knew I was hooked. I was just hoping it was superficial.. But when I looked down. I saw the whole hook stuck in my foot. My thoughts: Fuck, this time hong gan already.. Cos I groaned, everyone turned and looked. So help arrived almost immediately from my dad and all the other uncles. Wasn't painful but I was just thinking how are we going to take that shit out of my foot. So I sat down and they debated how to do it. For those who dun fish, the thing with hooks nowadays is, they are all armed with a "reverse hook". Go in one way very easy, come out the other way, got another hook... So 2 options available: To push it forward (to avoid the reverse hook thingy) and cut the hook into 2 when the ends are visible and take out the hook from 2 sides. Or, to just heck the reverse hook and pull it out the way it went in..

First option was more or less the first choice because this is what docs will normally do. But dad tried moving the hook a little and found it lodged firmly, no way forward. Guess it's the bone (ie. metatarsal) blocking it. We were afraid there might be veins and nerves in the way also.. The boatman came by and said we should use Option 2.. But we debated awhile more.. All this while, my foot was iced to keep it numb to prepare for the minor "op". So yada yada, was going to do it already, but I think my dad cant really do it.. As in xia4 bu4 liao2 shou3.. So he left it to the boatman.. My foot was numb from all the icing already but not totally numb at the hook area, but all round it was numb as hell.. And so they were ready, option 2 it was.. I asked one uncle to hold my left leg, in case i kicked, a guy locked arms with me by the elbow, and then my left hand held on tight to a beam.. All juz in case.. Some of them had hooked experiences, but none had gone through what I had to, which is to do it right in the boat without professional medical care.. So I braced myself and looked away. I could feel what he was doing la, but just braced myself to get it over and done with..

With one short, strong pull, it was out.. I groaned again... At that moment, a bit painful. Quite painful actually, but it was restricted to that small area at least.. So not so bad. And den was the cleaning up part. Actually, up till now, never properly clean up yet. came home just used alot of soap to wash.. And sunday, clinic all closed. I think I probably will go see my family doc tml at his clinic, maybe get a tetanus jab, just in case.. It's a bit swollen also..

Oh well, the rest of the fishing trip will bore pple out, so wun blog about it. But on the whole, we caught alot of sotong (it is fun!) and also dad got a big fish that weighed probably 6kg or more.. Fun trip but probably won't go again till 2 yrs later again, after NS..

Barca Barca Barca!!

Whoo.. This feels great.. Alot of things going my way the past week.. Monetary wise especially.. Haha.. Got the 2nd pay check. Dunno why lady boss so fast give also, been 2 weeks or so only.. Shrug, got money, so I'm not complaining. haha.. Barca beat Arse last night!! So happy.. When Bellati scored the 2nd Barca goal, I jumped and punched the air.. I so wanted to shout "GOALLL!!!!" But couldn't cos it was 4.45am.. So just jumped and jumped... Whee!! If only we were having a football party, Daryl and I would have just gone berserk together.. Haha.. I can't wait for the WC!

Now I'm still contemplating if I should buy tv.. damn.. Wad would help me to decide? Maybe can add antenna in my room, make the tv more worthwhile, rather than just VCD and game.. Heh..

SCV!

Whoo.. After years of waiting, my dad has finally decided to wire up the house with SCV cable points and subscribe to SCV! Whoo... Shiok. Haha.. Well, but now that I'm enlisting soon (I hope), watching it is confined to weekends only.. Oh well.. But it's good. They can watch things like Discovery or wad also. Heh..

Ah, I'm quite tired now. Slp for 4 hrs or so over at Dil's place with Daryl and gang.. Went loads of places last night, from Mustafa to Changi V to outside zoo to take pictures. Haha. We do crazy stuffs, yes.. Anyway, the Samsung Slimfit TV I'm eyeing costs $259. I'm still thinking if I should get it.

Gorged myself silly with GF today at Sakae. Haha.. He surrendered. Lousy la. Cannot eat one he.. And he scared away the girl sitting to the table next to us and the waitress also la. First, the girl next to our table asked to change seat with her guy fren after she saw GF keep looking at her. -.-" And den, the waitress.. Think she a bit scared also. Cos GF called her by her name - Yvonne. Known through her nametag. Yah, embarassing you bet..

It's been awhile since I paid adult fare. But now that I'm back on adult fare. Damn, it's taxing! A $10 top up dries up in 3 days.. If I take one trip to and fro when I go out. More trips? Den top up faster! Now I get the picture why I see pple whose EZ-Link card is like $80+ in value. Probably last them 2 weeks only. Wth.. And since when adult fare on buses end with the 5 cents and not 3 cents anymore?? How come I din know of the fare hike. BOOHOO!!

World Cup!

Whee... Finally passed my Napfa with a silver today! Yay~!

Here I come World Cup, Here I come Vietnam.. Here I come to many many things! Muahaha... Whoo hoo!!!!

Nearly din make it to the stadium.. Wa lao, over slept la. 7am still at home snoring. Haha.. Luckily sis woke me up.. Den dad fetched me to the stadium.. Nearly din pass the stupid test even before the 2.4.. You see, the first station we went to was standing broad jump. Madness, whole body still haven't click into gear how to jump?! So managed only mediocre results.. And retook it after I'm done with all other stations.. First jump pass the required mark already. Swee.. =) Did 7 pull-ups today also. heh.. Clocked 12:14 for 2.4km. Haha.. Scrapped through, but who cares. I passed!!

Yay!!!!!!! Take away this glorious moment from me and I'll kill you! =p

I just realise the power of songs. How it can really bring out the inner memory of a person. No kidding..

And my pet IT gadget just crashed happily when I was uploading songs into it and the battery dieded.. -.-

It's probably not my day cos I went to the game shop wanting to purchase a new game. Only to remember that it's closed on Mondays, only when I reached there..

Swam 22 laps at the pool. Feel good but tired. The shower reeked of puke when I was showering.. Probably "reeked" is too strong a word. But I could smell it..

Status Quo..

And so the dust has somewhat settled for the GE.. Somewhat.. I'm sure some things gonna happen following this GE.. And yah, Gomez has juz been detained. But never mind, he's not my MP so not my problem..

And so, the nation has decided for 2 oppositions in the Parliament. Status Quo.. What does this mean? I don't know.. But I'm sure some prices gonna go up here and there.. Hmm.. Aljunied close fight as expected.. Good performance from the opposition to take 43% of the votes. And in Hougang, which is a stone's throw away from my consistuency, the more charming Low took 62% of the votes to crush the less charming Low. What this means is really... You don't do your homework mr. Eric.. If you hadn't push so hard for upgrading, you might have won.. I mean it. Talked to a hawker today when we went to the Hougang market for lunch, I can see she's a supporter of the more charming Low. But she explained to me why. Upgrading would just mean she pay more. And it's not a mere hundreds of dollars but tens of thousands. True.. I understand.. So can I claim it's a big boo boo on Mr Eric's part? The first thing he told SM Goh was that the consistuents were concerned about upgrading.. I think he's gravely wrong.. Or maybe he isn't. Cos the residents ARE concerned about upgrading.. But concerned that you don't squeeze them dry of their money for the upgrading.. And so it means. They are concerned that if you are elected, they'll have to part with some cash for upgrading which is more of a want than a need to most of them I think.

Same for Potong Pasir.

And so, a parting shot.. Do they really know what we want? What Singaporeans really want?!

New Pet..

I mentioned that I have a new pet IT gadget right? Yeah.. It's a mp3 player. Nearly one month after my birthday, I've finally bought the present my sis promised me. Heh.. Well, it's not like she dun wanna buy or what. But I couldn't decide which mp3 player I wanted, so I told her that I'll go look see before telling her what I want..

Went Sim Lim with ZW that day, was actually zooming in on a Zen Neeon 1GB player.. Cos it costs $210 and I found it reasonable. Well, went into the shop I enquired with a few days back, but another guy quoted me the player at $235. Dumbass. So I decided to take a look around at other shops.. Come to think of it, I might have bought the Neeon there and then had he not quoted me a higher price.. Haha.. Nvm, so walked the whole Sim Lim, looking at computer stuffs also cos ZW wanted one PC.. As we were walking, I was deciding whether to jump on an offer that really caught my eye.

You see, went to Song Brothers and enquired about Mp3. The guy recommended me the new Sony Walkman. Well, I've seen it before I like it, but I thought the price was abit steep (at least for the budget I set for my sis, though she prob wun mind).. It had cost $399 the week before. And now, the guy offered me $268. Whao!!! I was like Whao!! (Sony cut price by $100, other shops all selling at $299 now) So Zen Neeon was thrown outta the equation.. 6GB Sony player for only that price.. It's gotta be a good deal.. So it was just a matter of time before I got it.. Sms sis to ask if she was alright, and she gave me the go-ahead. And ta-da!! I have a mp3 player that I really like at $265! Heh.. The sound quality is good too. =)

People's Power

Went to the WP Ang Mo Kio GRC rally just now.. There was sucha huge crowd. Every corner of the open field was filled up. The pavements too, leaving only a shoulder length path for passers-by to walk.. I climbed up the HDB blocks beside it to take some pictures. Snapped alot of pictures, but I dunno how it'll turn out to be..

Nvm it is a PAP or an opposition rally. I feel it's good to see Singaporeans experiencing sorta a real election rally.. As some uncles standing beside me commented, "It's just like Lee Kuan Yew rallying years ago." Another commented that this kind of competition against the new PAP leaders can only do the PAP government good, because alot of those in Parliament now have not face a stiff enough opposition from the Oppositions, or some of them have never tasted competition in Elections..

How much of the crowd that was actually present today will translate their very vocal support into what really matters - the vote, remains to be seen. I can't wait for Saturday night to see how Singaporeans voted..

Agonising..

"I'm in agony" is an understatement. If it isn't. It's a under under-statement. What else comes closer? I so fucking feel like banging my head on the fucking wall. Pardon the explicit choice of words. But I just feel so irritated. I just failed to get a silver for my NAPFA, again... And this time.. Nothing comes closer than that. I passed my 5 stations.. Standing broad jump was a small problem. But managed to clear it on the 4th try.. So the main point. I failed the 2.4km.. (meaning get a bronze std only) By 1 second.. How close can you get. Nothing closer. Seriously.. It's the smallest unit that you can get. Wtfh.. I cant swear enough. I don't know what went wrong. During the run, I ran the best that I can.. I didn't allow myself to stop.. On hindsight. The 5th round probably took a little longer. But I made up for it by running my lungs out on the 6th round.. I should fucking wear a watch next time.. And dash through the finishing line just like shuttle run. FUCK!!!!!!!

Even my new pet IT gadget lying in front of me can't comfort me much now. And oh, it's silver in colour. -.-" Back to Toa Payoh again next week. Damn it.

WP rally @ Hougang

Ok. I din know got so many pple there. See for urself.. And the photographer couldn't get the full picture of just how many pple were there even using his widest lens.. My estimate will be about 30,000 pple all in all.. Some pple climbed to nearby HDB blocks for a bird's eye view. I heard traffic around that area slumped to a crawl..

Long weekend..

A long weekend. Singapore is bustling with Elections activities. It's good to see Singapore in election mode.. I must say I'm lucky to live here in Aljunied GRC.. I wonder how it is like to be in the west, where no voting is required for most consistuencies..

Been to 2 rallies.. It's fun. To see the passionate side of Singaporeans. You don't see us being so passionate as often these days.. The other time I saw it was probably last year's Tiger Cup triumph at the Kallang. So I urge people whom haven't been to rally, go to one. But choose wisely. Not all rallies are good. I won't say whose is good right here, in a very private yet very public domain. haha.. But if you wanna know, gimme a ring. =)

Anyway, cross-fires between the opposition and PAP candidates. Inevitable, it's elections.. But one thing that caught my eyes is PM Lee's comparisons of the Aljunied candidates from WP to his PAP candidates. Well, what to say, the comparisons are founded on an uneven platform. True, his PAP candidates hold their own portfolios and probably do their jobs well, but has PM Lee forgotten that the jobs of voters, is to choose their representative for their own consistuencies, not the office bearers in government?! Or maybe a new kind of elections is brewing where Singaporeans get to vote who be what Minister?! Haha.. And in the comparisons, with all due respects.. I would like to question if the president of the CASE really have kept costs of living down. Why am I paying so much to go from Hougang to Little India. $1.41 per trip is madness. I paid only $1.31 from Bugis to Bishan on Sat.. It's still ex. But it's the lesser of two very big evils an having travelled a longer distance that is.. AND OH! SBS Transit just changed the plasmas in the NEL stations. Every single freaking one of them.. Aren't they losing money for the NEL operations that they have to make fares so high?! I don't get it. Fingers crossed, I won't have to pay for those freaking new plasmas that I didn't ask for, come October..

Sis is gonna give me half her Progress Package, cos I dun get any. You rock, sis. I will vote for you! Muahaha.. Suck balls, garmen.. I AM 21.
