Story of Joan..

Read the feature on Life! today about this young lady called Joan. Some of you should have read it as well.. Managed to finish reading the whole 2 page cos I found it touching and brave.. The fact that she was from the NCC made me felt a kind of closeness to her.. I wondered if I've seen her before.. Maybe I have.. It's sad and cruel to see sucha young life battered by illness.. She's a year younger than me! But another point I picked up from her story which wasn't emphasised.. Do not leave anything to chance.. She had this ulcer on her tongue that refused to go away and she didn't have the time to go for check up as it was nearing A Levels. Hrm, really, leave nothing to chance I'd say.. Though I think I'm guilty of it much too often also. Well, who'd have thought of cancer to strike, at our 'tender' age..

I muz say her story truly touched me.. And I'm more impressed by her will to live and fight on.. All the best, fellow ex-NCC cadet..
