Job Satisfaction..

Job satisfaction. Ah, now I know what it means. First day of work yesterday, few hours into it and I know there's no job satisfaction to what I'm doing.. Whole day sit down there type worksheet only. Wth.. Monotonous, not fun. Lucky I committing only 3 days per week.. So it's really a job for money.. Haha.. Compared to days at Co-Org, when I slogged to death but earned a meagre intern pay of $420 per month, job satisfaction is what really kept me going.. The satisfaction of the current job might come when I get my first pay check, certainly good pay..

Thinking of going to take Clifford Pier tomorrow morning before I go to work.. It's closing on Saturday, though the jetty itself will remain, the boats will no longer come in. So, I must really drag myself outta bed, and pray hard that it shines brightly tomorrow! *pray*

The job of Journalism..

Journalism.. Studied the module in my diploma course.. The lecturer actually listed down some code of ethics for being a journalist. Can't be bothered to memorise them cos I don't want to be a journalist anyway.. But I remember some of it goes along the line of reporting events objectively.. Er, well at least if it's not in the code of conduct (cos I really can't remember if it is or not), the job of journalist is to report objectively. Right?

Hmm.. The elections is coming, journalists are working in over-rev to churn out reports, analysis to cover as wide a spectrum for Singaporeans to be able to know what's going on.. Maybe I should become a journalist after all cos they seem to lack that few reporters needed to cover a even more wholesome spectrum..

I'm just tired of seeing MIW hogging the headlines in everyday's papers.. I don't see why new candidates being introduced should hog the headlines instead of probably a veteran politician who is about to step down? Newsworthiness. Ah yes.. Another important aspect of journalism.. I don't see why some new candidates' profile of what they do for a living, who they have in their families and even their HOBBIES.. Can you believe it?! Hobbies... Roflmao.. I hope that Malay guy introduced last week don't come to Aljunied.. I'd be forced to vote for the opposition cos he supports Liverpool. Hahaha! Oh, I forgot.. I'm ineligible to vote. Fuck. I want my $600.. I AM A SINGAPOREAN!!!!!!!

Starting work tomorrow at a tuition centre, thanks to Gab's gai siao. haha.. Kill some time off also good. Work 3 days a week. Hehe.. Not too bad... And oh.. 5 pull ups now.. One more to go! Maybe I can take the IPPT next week! =D

Team Singapore - 4 million idiots strong..

Ok, my title has got nothing much to do with sports. But I'd like to take this opportunity to say I'm very proud that our flag is flown high in Melbourne, by all our athletes, regardless of they winning medals or not.. Well done, athletes.. =)

Now, Singaporeans are idiots.. Or rather, taken to be idiots.. By who? No, not by foreigners but by our very own people.. Yesh, and it's plain obvious whom I talking about, judging that today is Sunday and all the headlines are hogged by similar events or topic. Yes, the GE..

The Heath Ministry has warned that Singaporeans residing in Hougang may suddenly catch the idiot plague. About 55% of the residents caught it 5 years ago. And it doesn't spread to areas of Hougang bordered by GRCs. It's just a very contagious disease in the SMC.

Ah crap.. Basically, I find it a joke, really really a big fat joke that SM Goh suggested that if Eric Low is voted into the Parliament, he would ask PM Lee to alter the party whip to allow Eric Low a role as an "opposition". Like WTH!!!! How would this work?! If Singaporeans really believe that this could work, idiots you are.. Might as well say, if Eric Low wins, he can defect to Workers' Party. Haha. That'll be more funny.. Seriously, fellow Singaporeans, you won't want to see puppet shows for 5 years.. I mean vote for the best guy, whomever you think he is. Make sure he is able to serve your consistuency and the nation well.. It's not a game seriously.. The country might need opposition voices in Parliament in the view of people, but please DO NOT create an "opposition" member. It'd be a joke.. A big fat joke, that'll turn more people off politics in the local scene. I swear I'll be one of them if it happens.

If Eric Low wins Hougang SMC, let him be a normal PAP MP. Don't do anything funny.. If not Singaporeans will laugh so hard till they injure their abdomens that no matter how many hospital we build will not be enough.

I hope nothing funny will come out again in the news tml with SM due to visit Potong Pasir. Maybe Sitoh will be allowed to be the Potong ice-cream man in Parliament. Haha.. That'll be more funny.

I hope I don't get sued.

Dragon the dragonboater..

Had a fun dragon boat race yesterday. Had fun screaming and shouting and having some fun with fellow MCM-ers. Wa lao, but we lost quite terribly in the race, or rather heats, by about a boat's length. But nonetheless, we were up against some sports group and sorts.. So it's not really a surprise we lost. At the end of the day, we had fun and tried our best, so that's all we had asked for really. Tiring though it was a short race. Haha..

Spent the whole afternoon cleaning up the mess in my room accumulated for dunno how long. Threw away most of the JCs stuff I stashed away in the cupboard.. Hmm, still got some other things I might want to clear in the room, but not today. tired.. At least my table top is clean now. Haha..

I think I should sell the old printer and scanner to Cash Converter or something.. It's taking up space and we don't use them anymore.. Yeah.. I probably should..

Danga Bay..

Went into JB last night. Fun!! Haha.. Drove Dil's car in.. Manual, haven driven one in a long long time.. Had a relatively good time driving it, though the engine stalled thrice.. Too used to driving auto cars, too bad.. Haha.. But it'll be better! =)

Anyway, went to Danga Bay for dinner. Nice surroundings, scenery. The place is clean. But the food sucks!!! Ok, we went to the wrong eatery I would say.. Budd! You recommended the most horrible recommendation that one can ever recommend!! Haha.. I'd think that if my foreign friends came to Singapore and I brought them to eat this kind of food.. Gone! I'd smack myself in the head man and probably go bang my head in the wall.. Nonetheless, nice time hanging out man.. We should have just gone to the place where we had dessert for our dinner la. Seems to have food that are so much nicer! We must try sooN! Heh..

To Gang: We can try too! =)

Anyway, today had training for a dragonboat race that is to take place tml. Heh.. Abit tired now, hope the race goes well tml, and everyone has fun! =)

There's so many things that I want to say, but maybe I shouldn't. Hey, if you have the chance go find an article on the two bus shelters in Potong Pasir. It was on Lianhe Zaobao today. Didn't see it on Straits Times and CNA website though.. Will post the link if I do see it. Well, if you read what's going on there, it's a joke. Basically a waste of taxpayer's money.. Yes, it is.. If YOU think about it, YOU can't deny it is not a case of wasting my dad's money. And oh, my sis' too!! _l_

Photo Journey..

Went to a photo exhibition with mom today.. Was planning to go out already, then she said she wanna go also, so we made our way down to National Library..

It is basically Yip Cheong Fun's photo exhibition.. This guy is a renowned local photographer who won numerous awards for his prints.. But the name might not ring a bell to us, cos he's passed away in the late 1980s. But his legacy definitely lives on, and I won't dispute that statement..

You see, this guy actually wanted to leave something behind for generations to come.. And he did. Starting from as early as 1930s, he took pictures all round Singapore, that reflected the lives of Singapore migrants.. Their jobs, their religious beliefs, their daily lives etc etc.. Over the years, he would take pictures that tell a million stories.. He also took pictures from exactly the same angle over period of times to tell how that area has changed. An excellent example would be the one on Chinatown. He took one picture in the 1950s and another one in 1978. You could see just how much it has changed, both in Chinatown and the backdrop, where skyscrappers were slowly coming up.. It'd be nice if he was still around to take another shot from exactly the same angle now.

All in all, an afternoon well spent. But was very tired after going through all the pictures.. Inspired too. Anyway, the exhibition is at 10th storey of the National Library, on till mid-May. Do have a look when you are free. =)

Collected my contact print for the roll I shot at the zoo.. The shots are generally ok.. A few shots are very nice.. The white tiger one did not turn out good.. But had a good one with the cheetah and also the zebra. Shall develop those 2 into bigger prints. Heh.. Shall go somewhere to take pictures again this week.. Thinking of where and when. I'm thinking of doing sunrise.. hehe.. Nice.. I shall pack my room soon, and also, get a ring file and some clear sleeves to file my photo works! =)

Embraced by nature..

Went to Sungei Buloh nature reserve today with Gab.. His primary objective is to finish tracking the right side of the park that he hadn't covered a couple of months back while I was there to take photos basically..

Basically had a fun day checking out monitor lizards, spiders, birds, fishes and many more.. And oh! a plant called the "ji bye plant" cos of its subtle resemblence to the female part.. Haha.. No comments.. Well, took loadsa pictures, Gab was wooing and wa-ing over the telescopic lens that I have, could basically pull in an image that is a few hundred metres away to right in front of your eyes.. Haha..

We saw this mom and son shortly into our trip. We were on a wooden platform that stretches out to the swamp and took pictures there. At this point in time, Gab was busy doing shitloads of stuff to get fishes to jump out of the water so that I could snap shots of them.. Well, he was stamping on the platform, clapping his hands and also, whistling.. So the boy and his mom came, and the boy started whistling too. Then the mom shot, "You 'wee' what 'wee' la, you 'shee shee' ah.." (meaning, you whistle what whistle, you urinating is it..) Wa piang, I could sense embarrasment all over Gab's face, while I was still looking into the viewfinder, trying damn hard not to burst out laughing. Haha.. Ok, so this mom and boy went off soon.. But a minute later, they ran back, quite literally screaming for their lives. Cos they thought they saw a crocodile.. Hmm.. Ok.. Haha, they are interesting.. And the mom asked if we were regulars at the park, I pointed at Gabriel.. And Gab juz said he read up on birds and wildlife so he knows abit about them. Proud of ya! Haha..

The weather was great and had a good time taking pictures with the sun shining brightly.. Then, the clouds started to come in, soon making it impossible to take good pictures, without the contrast of sunshine and of course, being tripod-less makes taking pictures under dark clouds a tough act.. We found shelter a the Aevie tower, basically an observation tower, that is 18m tall, oversees much of the surrounding mangrove area, and offers a spying opportunity on our friendly neighbour. Haha... The rain, downpour to be exact, soon came in and we took the opportunity to literally 'la liang'.. Damn cool.. And we soon decided to plonk ourselves to a nap on the broad benches up there. Cool stuff.. Sleeping on a tower, with the wind blowing and most importantly, stayed dry.. Whoo.. Gab and I thought of the same thing about that tower... Haha, but he more fierce than me.. Not telling what it is here..

Set off on our way back after the rain stopped. This is when the mosquitoes came out. Nia ma, damn jialat. Kenna attack till no tomorrow.. Lost interest in stopping and checking things out so just full throttle walked back to visitors centre. Killing about 4 mosquitoes along the way, let off 2 by blowing them off my arm than smacking them (they were on my arm simultaneously, within 3cm of one another!)... Madness, mosquitoes out in full force is never fun..

All in all, a great time out. I think our presence was quite complimentary to each other. Gab does know more about the wildlife and if not for him, I think I would have missed quite a lot of things. As for me, I provided him with a telescope. And I also took pictures that will hopefully turn out well!

Under the weather..

Sniff.. Feeling under the weather.. Getting sick, probably from the hot weather, and also from dad's car air-con.

You see, we were in Malaysia yesterday, and I was driving the whole day. Having a hot weather means dad blasted the aircon, it was cooling alright. But we stopped several times to sight-see, toilet break, makan etc. So I guess the sudden changes in surrounding temperatures has taken its toll on me.. Or, it's just through sheer tiredness.. Bleh, had a tissue stuck up my nose while driving today. haha..

Anyway, it's really fun, and also abit exciting and dangerous to drive in Malaysia at night. Not the North-South Highway, but those normal roads.. Damn fun.. You'll appreciate that your cars come with headlights and highbeams. And for once, they become useful to yourself, rather than as a device for other drivers to see you more clearly.. Yeah.. I dunno, I just find it a beautiful experience. Heh..

Think I should go to sleep soon. Sniff..

Energetic-less..

Pardon me for the gross mistake in the title. But, that's what I'm feeling now, no energy..

It's good to be able to get some rest, but it's sucky when it means I have no target in my daily life.. What am I doing? I had to drag myself to the gym today, so that I do something useful for myself. But I couldn't care enough to do the cardio much. Jogged 1.2km on the threadmill and stopped. What is wrong with me?!

Maybe I'll go take pictures tml.. But where, I've no ideas.. Ubin is a nice place, but going alone sucks.. Screw it. The Ministry shouldn't have shifted the academic calender for poly.. Bleh!!

I hope to be able to sleep all the day and dream what I want to see. But sleeping the whole day means draining my life away.. My big day is coming.. Dunno how to arrange cos dad asked me if I'm free for dinner on that day. Would have gone out with the gang if he hadn't asked. Now I'm cracking my brains on how to handle the two. I'm thinking of having a steamboat at my place on Fri night and then spend the night at my place or wad? Wad u guys think...

Eh, something nice just happened when I'm writing this. Talking to my juniors now. And another reality sinks in. They enlist before me. WTH. Haha, but it's ok..

Freaking 0-9..

Probably played my first match on a full pitch with proper goal posts, with 11-aside and all the makings of a proper match, minus a ref. But it was a friendly, so a ref was excludable.

Anyway, I was in goal. And yes, lost 9-0. Not that I was incompetent or wad. Those who played football with me in goal before would know I am a reasonably competent gk.. Then wad caused that dreadful scoreline? Well, the defence in front of me.. It was non-existent. Supposed to have 4 of them, 2 wing backs and 2 centre backs. But no, I have a dedicated Daryl running the defence right in front of me all the time. But if he's ever beaten by strikers, I think it'd be left to me alone to save the ball from going into the freaking big goal..

Sian, their keeper can stand yaya papaya to a post, while I'm probably one of the busiest guys on the pitch.. Made a few good saves, and also one bad mistake. But all in all, you'd be impressed of me, cos majority of the team playing in front of me was, shit.

Zoo Out..

Heh. Went to the zoo today. Took lotsa photos.. Ok la, one roll of 36 exposures (alot or not?).. Quite excited to see the outcome of the shots. Eh, first time using the telescopic lens that my sis has. Quite hard to focus sharply. Don't know why.. But it's sure damn cool to be able to capture the animal as if it was in front of me, while standing at a distance away. Heh.. Shall send the film for developing soon!

Took about 2 hrs to finish walking the zoo. Was more like walk, snap and go. But I also waited for some shots. Animals hide under shades during the noon you see.. So yeah. Got one particular shot that I'm quite excited about, but don't know how it'll turn out.. Was waiting for the White Tiger to turn and face me before I shoot. And sure enough, it turned, and I snapped right at the moment of turning. Haha. Hope it turns out good!!

Think I needa brush up on my photography skills more. NExt up, hope to be able to go Sg Buloh with the Gang soon! =) Den can have some artistic shots. Heheh..

What goes around, comes around?

Ok. Don't know if I used the correct phrase. But just trying to sound profound. Lol..

Well, Saturday was night out with the Gang as usual. Was looking quite pathetic at first with only me and Gab going for dinner. Others had plans already for dinner. KY and KL at bdae parties, Veron self-grounded herself and ZL wanted to mug. But roped in GF and Marianne at last min and off we go to have Cod Fish Curry at Toa Payoh. Not too bad I must say, though the price might have been better? But it was a nice dinner nonetheless.. Anyway, we decided to call 'reinforcements' to join us for after-dinner activity.. Managed to get Veron to join in while KY was too tired and Ziling was uncontactable. We picked up Veron at her place and was deciding where to go when someone said Pasir Ris Park. Ok so off we went! And all the better cos Kunlei was there for a chalet..

Reached Pasir Ris Park and was finding a carpark to park the van. Missed one CP and went straight to one at the end.. We spotted KL's car and decided to park beside his car.. Swee! 2 of our own side by side. Ho Hum! I saw the car right in front of us was somehow spookily familiar. A grey Honda Civic it was. The car plate number was familiar too, seemed to be smiling at me and saying "Hi!".. So I excitedly jumps out of the car, alerting the others too and we checked the car out. The suspect: Uncontactable Ms Long Ziling. The apparently dull night was getting exciting.

I can't remember her dad's car number. Though I was sure it's a SFM. The number somehow seemed familiar, but it was non-conclusive. So Veron and I checked the season parking ticket out. The car belonged to some Bishan resident. alright. Lead number 1! Next, Gab joined in.. He was wondering for awhile what other clues to find.. Den he excitedly runs to the right side of the car and exclaimed, "The rims!" (FYI, Ziling scratched the rims at Bishan MRT the other time she picked us up, and left a vital and unmistakable 'tatoo' on the right front rim) Gab bent down and in the faint lighting, he saw it. "Hahahaha!! It's her car la!! The rims scratched one!!" HO HUM!! With no delay, we roped in the expert, Police Sergeant Goh Kun Lei to help in our park-wide manhunt..

Everyone was excited. Hahaha.. Can u imagine, a supposedly very gay-ish dinner between me and Gab turned out to be such an event. Probably once-in-a-lifetime thing! Hahaha.. And so we walked, following the expertise of GF and Marianne, who go to Pasir Ris Park often I guess, to couple's hotspots. We checked out the breakwater, the dark dark pavilions and what nots. Walked about 500m and came to a very dark long bench along the beach. MADE FOR COUPLE. Gf said, "This is a very likely spot." So we detoured out of the running track and walked in front of couples. Haha. Very extra but nvm. We are undaunted.. The 50m long stretch of bench was ending when Gf suddenly said Hi to somebody and the person waved back excitedly and said Hi too! I was right behind GF but it was quite dark and I couldn't tell who it was at first sight but I said Hi anyway. But soon turned out that it was someone I know! Prime suspect Ms Long!!! WAHAHAHAHA... She got the "Oh Shit" look on her face. Ms Long - Nailed, put to jail and the rest was history..

Haha, to make things short and sweet. She was "mugging" at Pasir Ris Park at 10.30pm on a Saturday night, with very little lighting (recap: I couldn't even make out if it was her from 3m away.), with a very big guy beside her, with her lying on his shoulder. And whao! No books!! Really pei fu! Can "mug" without books.. So u get the picture?!

Moral of the story: Never lie to friends. Seriously.. You won't get away with it.

P/S: Sway pple might not get away with it even at the first try.

Who stole my bag?!

Si bei sian.. My bag kenna stolen while I was jogging on the track at Hougang Stadium. Damn!

I'd never have brought my bag with me if I had planned to go to the stadium.. Had wanted to go to the gym. But decided don't really have enough time to have a proper work out and go meet Gab for dinner. So went to the stadium instead. What a bad mistake it turned out to be. Damn sian.. Left the bag at the Grand stand. 2nd round I see the bag still there. But 400m later.. It was gone! WTF!! Other than sian, I got nothing else to say.. Grrr... and oh. Curse that f***ing dick head of yours! Steal a bag with no valuables inside.. Stupid f-er.

Damn sian.. Lost the bag that I had for 3 yrs. And also, the house keys. Which means gotta change the lock (just in case), and also got a verbal hammering from my mom. Lucky my dad was at home. But I think he should have just let my mom say her piece, if not she'll be very bei song. Haiz.. But it's ok now I think. Just that I think she'll keep mentioning it for days. *shrug*

Moral of the story: The swimming pool is a far safer place than the stadium. Period.

The week flew by..

And the week flew by. And it's the weekend again! Whao!

Sorta looking forward to it. But the gang's reply to a makan tml has been quite negative. So I wonder what I'll do. Maybe stay home play game and then go jogging at night? Hrm..

Went to see the World Cup trophy today at Suntec, courtesy of Daryl, who sms-ed TNP to get a pair of tickets. But we realised that anyone could have gotten the tickets right outside the exhibition hall. -.-" So much for the exclusivity hype. Thanks anyway, Daryl.

Went to the career and education fair thereafter.. Pretty much walked the educational sector only, though I felt like taking a look at the career side also. Might be back tml or sth to check it out.. A course that certainly catches my attention is to study a Mass Comm degree in SIM, in collaboration with RMIT Uni. I'd get my Bachelor in Mass Comm in only 1.5yrs! How cool. haha.. Well, but I'm keeping my options open. And oh, did I mention.. I've been visiting sites of Mindef to check out scholarships that I can potentially apply for.. "sign on sign on sign on!" =X
