Tiring but enriching day..
Ok.. Finally today is a good day for photo-taking. Haha.. Went out for the whole day snapping pictures. But alas. Think I can never take more than a roll in a day, or can I? I just simply runout of inspiration and gets too tired and perspiring like shit that I just wanna hop onto a bus or train..
Lemme see, I went to Tiong Bahru first. Walked around to find those old housing apartment around the market there. Snapped half a roll down there.. Got a few blocks seemed deserted already, or maybe converted to some worker's quarters already? Cos got locked gates all this and I see some curtains behind closed windows.. Hmm, or maybe the residents have just been evicted not long ago? But it sure is nice seeing those buildings man! After that area, walked to another old old evicted housing block, somewhere nearer to Great World City.. That one, has got no locked grille gates.. Though it's been 90% fenced up.. An opening was left for people to cut through the lock to get to the other side, which still has residents and shops. So I ventured under the block. Snapping some pics here and there. And wondering if I should go upstairs to check it out. After awhile, decided to go up. Wa kaoz. Damn damn eerie. Even when it was in the day.. -.- Doors were left open, it was certainly the kind of place I dreamt of taking.. But the lighting was not there. Damn dark, even in the day... -.- Sigh. I was down in a minute. Partly for fear of seeing things. At that moment, the fact that it's the 7th lunar month just can't get out of my mind.. *Shiver*
Haha.. Ok, after that, walked to Chinatown.. But din shoot in the end, decided that I'll come early one day before all the business get under way, probably I shall go tml morning. Heh.. Had lunch at the hawker there. OOh.. There's this stall there which sells great dessert. My 2nd time patronising the lady today.. Last week had bobo-chacha there.. It was great! Many yams and many sweet potatoes. Enough coconut milk, and the ice was grined to fine perfection! Remains solid when u use the spoon to stir it, but melts in your mouth.. Yes.. That's wad impressed me most I guess, cos alot of ice nowadays are left too coarse..
Eh, then made a suicidal thought of taking a bus to Changi V!! Haha.. Service no. 2 from SGH there all the way to Changi V!! And I actually did that!! Haha.. Decided that I needa snap some colonial-era structures so yeah.. Headed down to Changi.. Things have changed there, the old jetty no longer exists, but the bridge was still there, so I snap some shots of it.. Walked to down to those Netharavon bungalows to snap some shots thereafter.. Nice.. Built in 1938.. Sq had her orientation camp there last month.. Nice.. The exterior left largely untouched except for repainting, the doors and windows are still old. Just that the locks are new, for obvious reasons? Haha.. Had wanted to stay longer there, but I was soon attacked by mosquitoes! Damn.. So decided that I should quickly get outta there, and it was like 5pm already.. Had wanted to take the old Changi hospital.. But I was damn itchily irritated, so gave it a miss.. Shall be back if I need to..
Headed down to Malay Village via train after that.. But by that time, it was 6 liao.. Too dark le.. I'm thinking if I should go there tomorrow.. Hmm.. Lesson is at 2. I might be able to spare some time for both Malay Village and Chinatown.. Which one should I go first?!?!?! =/
