Chilling out...

Went to meet Gab, Gf and KL at Gab's place in the morning. Bought breakfast for them too.. Roti Prata from Iman.. Those guys played Winning 11 on Gab's Xbox the whole night and slept only at 6am.. I went over at 9.. Gab and Gf were already up again playing We11.. KL k.o on the sofa already. But he woke up to eat the prata with us, and aunty (gab's mom) gave us some pau to eat also.. Wa.. Damn full..

Den, I suggested we play Burn Out 3.. Haha.. Another game on Xbox. It's a sadistic but entertaining game most suited for multi players.. Your objective of the game is to crash rival cars.. The mode we played was "Get 10 takedowns or the last one standing win the game". Takedown basically means the number of times u cause the opponent to have a major crash.. Yah, as in, the car flip or crash straight into a wall or oncoming vehicle kind of thing. And of cos, your car will crash too. Too many crashes, and you lose..

After a few hours of intense gaming and some nua-ing.. Our stomach start to rumble.. KL and I wanted to drive out to packet lunch.. Cos Gab is still quite immobile after the op.. But just when i was to step out of the house. He excitedly announced that he was ready to go out with us! Whao! We were abit scared at first.. Wad's more, his mum was not around.. Later come home see his son missing.. -.- Well, we got into the car and gab gave his mum a ring. Think his mum also abit sweating la.. Haha.. But no choice, he already out and I was driving, so he neednt walk too much..

Our destination was the hawker near parkway parade.. But upon reaching there, saw the traffic was fubar.. Decided to make a detour and we ended up at East Coast hawker.. Yippee! 2nd visit in 3 days. Wahhaa.. We pigged ourselves out again.. Gab and I ordered Bak Kut Teh and Pig Trotters to share.. KL had grilled chicken rice and Gf ate wonton noodles. We also ordered carrot cake and rojak to share.. Haha.. 4 humans went in, 4 pigs came out. Heh..

The 3 of them were eating and chio bu-spotting at the same time.. Haha.. Their attention turned to a woman seated a few tables away.. She had a kid jumping around her.. But was still in good body shape and quite a good-looking lady.. And the conversation among them turned to how they pray their future wives will be like tht. And tht there'll be no reasons at all for the woman's husband to go out and tou1 chi1. Haha..

After tht.. Went to the beach and sat down.. Gab nearly fell on the uneven sand surface.. His knee still quite weak.. So have to be extra careful.. "Fragile, handle with care" Hehhe.. Well.. Sang abit at the benches. KL was telling us we can start a music group.. 4 months break even. 5th month listed. -.-" Haha.. Ya right..

A lot of things we say are rubbish. But i think it's those rubbish conversations that keep our friendship going and enjoying one another's companionship. Jo is coming back tml.. Can look forward to another weekend of fun, probably. :D

Car batt died on me!

My parents went Genting with uncle and dad's buddy.. 6 pple in total. They drove in my uncle's Toyota Picnic (7-seater MPV) to their destination. They left on Friday night. Well, since dad's not in, that leaves me with his car. Wahaha...

Fri night met up with Shiqi and came my place to watch TV together with sis. After our Li Daxia show was over, drove to East Coast food centre for supper with Qi. Whoo... Sumptuous stingray and BBQ Chicken wings, doused with Sugar Cane with lemon.. :D

Went home quite late after supper.. Woke up at 11+ am, and drove out again at like 1pm. Went to shiqi's place to pick her up, well, the story starts here... When I reached her place, I called her to ask her to come out but she was not quite ready, so in I went to her place. After 10minutes of apple crunching and playing with Furby (Qi's dog), we were ready to head out. But den, when I tried to start the engine, it just doesn't!! Wa kao.. I was like.. wad the f***..

I suspected the battery was dead. But still for a moment, I din know wad to do.. Cos, if u know where Qi stays, there's quite a distance to the main road. Den she suggested that I call my dad on his mobile or she can ask her dad to help me take a look.. Well, did both in the end. My dad was sleeping in the hotel.. Haha.. Den he can't do much except he smsed me a number of this Mr Rahman who is a mobile technician and can come to my rescue.

Qi's dad took a look at the car but can't quite confirm wad's the problem also but he believed my view that the battery was dead. So, he drove me to the tyre and batt shop located at the main road.. Told them I have a flat batt and they sent a techincian with us, together with a brand new batt. Reached her house again and the techincian swung into action. In 5 minutes, it was all done. He asked me to start the engine again. And boy, the engine revved up.. It worked!! Haha. Was so darn happy..

Luckily I had enough money with me to pay off the $95 for the batt. Would be too paisei to ask Qi's dad to pay for me first. Well, so it was settled. And my first time dealing with car breakdown since the time I was like.. 5? In a way, have to thank Qi for asking me in to her house before we set off. If not, the battery would have died on us at our next destination.. Hay's Dairies.. in freaking LIM CHU KANG!! Phew.. it wasn't there, if not really can faint..

Anyway, yah. we still went there eventually at 4. Fed the goats and took some pictures before rounding it off with a bottle of goat milk. Quite nice to drink actually.. Really, you should try it!

And oh! Back to the batt part.. Freak.. Remember that a uncle at a petrol kiosk topped up the old battery with water.. Yes.. Tap water meant for coolant or washer or washing car or wadeva. But NOT the batt. But he did top up the car batt with non battery water.. So I guess that helped a lot in making the old batt dying on me without a sign AT ALL! Damn.. Lucky enough that the battery is already 2 years old and is approaching the end of its life span too.. Phew..

That's it for now. A good experience anyway. But could have been worse...

Crappy production on TV Mobile

Went to school on 74 to attend lesson at 12. Tv Mobile was showing some production by local film students.. I can't see the tiny scroll line that ran across the bottom of the screen which tells viewers students from which poly made the film. I prayed that it isnt Ngee Ann, I tell you..

Well, the one that i watched was about this girl who want to pursue a career in music, but like all typical singapore parents, the mum objected and asked her to concentrate on her studies. Well, I must say the whole idea is realistic and reflect a true image of the society. What I'm complaining is the shooting and editing, or rather, the lack of editing.. Plain laziness I tell you... It makes me wonder how the hell their lecturer passed this kind of work to be aired on national TV?!?!

Some of the things I see:

Firstly, the girl (Jossie, if I dun rem wrongly) was having dinner with a much older man, which I dun really figure out their relationship (as usual, sucky audio transmission of TV Mobile).. Ya, the setting of the dinner scene.. Well, the 2 of them were in a western restaurant and guess what? They were sitted NEXT to each other!! Wad the.. How often do you see TWO retards going to a western restaurant and sit NEXT to each other?! Not even in a Chinese restaurant!!! Initially I thought there was a 3rd or even a 4th person sitted across. But no, it was just the 2 of them.. How lazy can the production crew be.. Seriously.. Simple logic that stares at viewers from the moment they watch this and it isn't taken care of.. What were they thinking man...

Secondly, the scene when Jossie wanted to jump off a building on learning that she is pregnant. Her fren rushed there to knock some sense into her. That part on the whole, I must say, was poorly shot.. The actress who acted as the fren was really exaggerated in my opinion. Her actions are too big, facial expressions too exaggerated.. I can't hear the lines (yes, thanks to poor audio transmission again.) but the performance was really bad.. What's more, you have one crazy woman ranting and raving in the background but Jossie just looked down with no action at all.. I mean, the contrast is too stark. One with such BIGG actions and one motionless. It really seems unnatural and awkward..

Thirdly (and worst of all), the same scene of Jossie wanting to jump. Well, the fren apparently chose the wrong dress. Her dress strap keeps falling off her shoulder. GUESS WAD?! She pulled her strap back in place on camera!!! F***.. Does that production team even have an editor?!?!?! How can they EVER leave that N.G. x 100000 shot in their final edit?!?! This was really the last straw.. I just shook my head when I saw that.. I wonder if that group has a lecturer guiding them too..

Lastly, a scene after Jossie decided that it's not worth it to jump, she came down.. Well, after such a long and 'emotional' persuasion from her fren, all they did was hug, for 0.75 seconds?! I seriously would have expected the director to ask them to hug for at least like 3-5 seconds and show that it was a tight hug. Come on! Your fren just helped to pull u back from Hell and your fren just decided to listen to you and not go to hell! But no, the director thinks that a hug for split second was enough. (they probably ran out of tape or wad) This take was SO for the camera. Like, if dun hug also cannot, hug also dun waste too much time. Yes, true, dun be like Taiwanese drama that hug already and start crying and talk for 10 minutes.. But at least show that one is grateful and another is thankful!

Whatever..

I seriously back the idea of TV Mobile taking local student production to be aired on it. It's really one of the few avenues for amateurs like us to have a platform to achieve greater things.. Come on, fellow media students, treasure the chance and put out a 110% effort, dun jeopardise other people's chances of showcasing their work in the future..

If u ask me, I should say personal, but sadly the legislation doesn't say so.. Bah..
